Hally Labels has showcased the benefits, capabilities and potential of its increased digital offset label printing technology, during three fun and informative evenings at our Auckland plant.

Over six years ago Hally Labels were the first in New Zealand to invest in HP digital offset label printing technology. After developing a market leading expertise in this area, a second press was installed in early 2012.

We recognised that digital offset printing was the future, and offered a number of key benefits that would compliment our traditional printing technology. Our leadership in this area has allowed us to offer customers more capacity to print labels digitally, more flexibility and the benefits of personalisation and unlimited creativity.

The showcase event featured interactive demonstrations of our digital operations, focusing on the areas of prepress, press, finishing, and materials. This enabled attendees to see the full workflow of the digital platform, from art file preparation, to the printing of jobs, through to applying special effects and diecutting.

Also on show were a number of capabilities only digital technology allows, including variable data and image indexing, variable microtext, sequential numbering and barcoding, and personalisation.

We have also launched a range of new materials that allow never before seen shelf presence for a wide range of applications. These include a portfolio of pearlescent materials for a premium and sophisticated shelf presentation, a range of textured materials, a solid-core black material, and several innovative environmental options including a natural Kraft material.
