Hally Labels has a colourful history in the printing and labelling industry, and with 46 years of experience we have seen many changes over the years. Hally Labels is still a family owned business, and the innovation and passion illustrated in the early days has continued to run strongly throughout the history of our operations. This has continued through to the current day and is a key factor in our ongoing success. Our HistoryIn 1965 Hally Press was established in Auckland by Ian and Pam Hally. As the business developed, design and pre-press was considered to be strategically important and Identity Digital Limited was established in 1982 and later renamed Hally Digital in 2005. In 1985 a subsidiary, Lingard Label Co. Limited, was formed in Christchurch, specialising in the supermarket weigh price market, the meat industry and general food labelling. In 1998 Lingard set up a factory in Brisbane to be more competitive and to better serve its Australian customers, through a local manufacturing base. Hally Press and Lingard continued to develop separately as complementary businesses serving the needs of different labelling markets. However, after extensive analysis and planning in 2002 the two companies were merged into an Australasian business, Hally Labels, improving efficiencies and streamlining the operation in the process. Merging the two companies allowed Hally Labels to restructure services and make the entire operation more efficient to better serve customers, which would be the key to future success. In 2008 Hally Labels acquired the label division of the Buckner Group, in order to expand further in the Australian market. Labelling is a very competitive industry, and the only way to thrive is to continue to innovate and do things better than your competitors. To ensure this Hally Labels continue to invest in new equipment, technology and processes. We were the first label company in New Zealand to install an HP Indigo digital offset press for high quality short run and variable data printing. After developing a market leading expertise in this area, we have recently installed a second press. We continue to develop and modify our product offer to suit our customers’ needs and believe that innovation will be the key for continued success in the future. |
